Engineered fall protection plans, anchor point certification, equipment inspection programs, and rescue procedures for any work at heights above 3 metres.
Under O.Reg. 213/91 (Construction Projects), fall protection is required at 3 metres (10 feet) and above, or at any height above operating machinery, open pits, or hazardous substances. Industrial workplaces under O.Reg. 851 do not specify a height; the employer must protect against any fall hazard.
Pre-use inspection by the worker before each use (visual and tactile). Formal inspection by a competent person at least annually or per manufacturer recommendations. Harnesses and lanyards must be removed from service after any fall arrest event.
