O.Reg. 632/05 (Confined Spaces) under the OHSA sets out requirements for hazard assessment, atmospheric testing, entry plans, on-site rescue, and coordination. It applies to all Ontario workplaces. Construction projects also reference O.Reg. 213/91 s.221-2.
Entry is prohibited if: oxygen is below 19.5% or above 23%, any flammable gas exceeds 25% of its LEL, or any toxic substance exceeds its OEL (e.g., H2S > 10 ppm, CO > 25 ppm). Continuous monitoring is required during entry.
