Typical Clients

🏗

New Construction

General contractors and developers who need P.Eng sealed electrical drawings for permit submission. Load calcs, panel schedules, SLDs, and site plans in the format your AHJ expects.

🔧

Renovations & Upgrades

Service entrance upgrades (100A → 200A → 400A), panel replacement, branch circuit additions, EV charger circuits — anything that requires a P.Eng sign-off for ESA inspection.

Industrial Facilities

Large load additions, motor control centres, generator interconnection, UPS systems, and MCC room design. ETAP modelling for facilities where load flow and fault analysis are required.

What You Get

  • CEC-compliant load calculations & demand analysis
  • Panel schedule layouts with circuit identification
  • Single-line diagrams (main through sub-distribution)
  • Conduit/cable sizing and routing plans
  • Equipment specifications & procurement support
  • EV charger infrastructure design (Level 2 & DCFC)
  • Generator & UPS interconnection drawings
  • Motor control centre (MCC) layout and schedules
  • Commissioning & startup — functional performance testing

The Engineering Process

1
Site Assessment & Data Collection
Gather existing drawings, utility information, equipment nameplate data, and code requirements for your jurisdiction and building type.
2
Load Analysis & Service Sizing
CEC-compliant load calculation, demand factor application, service entrance sizing, and coordination with utility for connection requirements.
3
Design Development
Single-line diagram, branch circuit layout, conduit routing, equipment selection. ETAP modelling for larger facilities requiring fault analysis or arc flash study integration.
4
Drawing Production & P.Eng Seal
AutoCAD permit set: site plan, SLD, panel schedules, conduit/cable schedule, details, and specifications. Professional engineer review and seal.
5
Permit & Construction Support
AHJ submission, reviewer comment responses, RFI support during construction, and optional commissioning witness/inspection.

Electrical Engineering FAQ

When does an electrical project require a P.Eng seal in Ontario?
In Ontario, P.Eng involvement is required for: new service entrances (typically 200A and above in commercial applications), distribution systems above low voltage in industrial facilities, all solar PV interconnection packages, generator interconnection, and complex panel systems. ESA may also require P.Eng involvement for complex renovations or when building permits demand it. When in doubt, contact us — we'll tell you what's required for your specific project.
Can you help with a service upgrade that's already been started?
Yes. We can pick up a project mid-stream, review what's been done, produce as-built drawings, and prepare the permit documents needed for ESA inspection. We'll be straightforward about what we find and what's required to get to a proper sign-off.
Do you do commissioning as well as design?
Yes. Standard and Premium tiers include commissioning support — we prepare a functional performance test procedure, witness system startup, verify relay and protection settings, and document any deficiencies. This is particularly important for solar+BESS systems, generator interconnections, and EV charging installations.
