Peak demand analysis, load shifting, demand response, battery dispatch optimization, and interval data review for commercial and industrial facilities.

How much can I save by shaving my demand peaks?

This depends entirely on your demand charge rate and the shape of your load profile. Facilities with highly "peaky" profiles (short spikes followed by much lower average demand) tend to have the best opportunity. In Ontario, demand charges range from $8–25/kW/month, so even shaving 50 kW saves ,800–5,000/year.

Key Deliverables

Does this work better with a battery?

Usually yes. A BESS system charged during off-peak hours and discharged precisely during peak windows is one of the most reliable demand management tools. When combined with solar, the demand reduction can be compounded. Our HOMER simulations model this explicitly for your load profile.
